A recent opinion piece in the New York Times by Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist, recommends that kids under the age of 18 shouldn't be allowed to play football. Dr. Omalu is the first to publish findings linking head injuries, in particular concussions, to a neurological brain disorder many football players have.
Center for Concussion at Rocky Mountain Hospital expert Brooke Pengel, M.D. reacts to the piece, calling for a more conservative recommendation to promote healthy athletes.
