In 2001, Pat Fendel’s son, Anthony, suffered from a congenital heart disease (pulmonary vein stenosis) and spent seven months in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before passing away in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Every year on the Saturday before Easter, Pat shows her appreciation and support of the care her son received by delivering gifts to all the NICU babies and their parents. The nurses on the unit look forward to seeing Pat every year and it’s been a wonderful tradition in keeping Anthony’s memory alive.
