Dr. van Doorninck is committed to improving care for children with cancer in low- and middle-income countries. He is a volunteer with World Child Cancer USA, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving cancer diagnosis, treatment and care for children across the developing world. Dr. van Doorninck is also an ambassador with Project C.U.R.E., the largest provider of donated medical supplies and equipment to developing countries. The collaboration between the two organizations is designed to improve access to care for children with cancer and to increase their survival. By improving physical infrastructure and attracting and training staff, it is also expected to have a positive impact on the care of patients suffering from other conditions. Ultimately, this partnership will help build a network of hospitals in the Southeast Mexico that can rely on themselves to provide the highest level of pediatric cancer in the region.
